Creating a new resource link is easy and can be done in three steps: 1) Create the link, 2) uploade the description text and 3) upload a background image.
Creating the resource
- Go to Pages to view the site-tree (paper icon on the left)
- Expand instructor resources
- Under either essential, enhanced, or student resources; select Add Child
- On the pop-up select the following for each scenario:
- External link: if your linking to articulate or something else outside of this site
- Internal Link: if you're linking to a blog article or something else on this website
- Content page: if you want to create a standard back page on this site
- Complete the basic page properties:
-
NAME: Type in the name of item being referenced
- For legibility reasons, try to keep this as short as possible. Ideally around 4 or 5 words but no more than 10
-
URL: The url will type itself as you enter the title
- You can edit it if you need to, just don't use spaces.
- You can always create shorter link URL's afterward via page paths.
- PUBLISH DATE: leave this blank unless you want it to publish at a certain time.
-
LABELS: always include ONE of the following tags: essential-resources
, enhanced-resources , student-resources
- Labels are both case and space sensitive, so you have to enter them exactly like above or they won't work.
- WEB ADDRESS: put the link to articulate in here
- CLASS, TITLE, TARGET: you don't have to worry about any of these fields
-
NAME: Type in the name of item being referenced
- Click Save
- If it was tagged properly, it should now show up on the resource page and the sub-resource group pages

Photo recommendations
- In order to avoid stretching and awkward crops at different viewport sizes, use photos that are at least 540 px wide by 330px tall.
- Keeping the file size for each below 300kb will ensure that the page will continue to load quickly with lots of thumbnails.
- Make sure to name your files so they're easy to find later. Also, prefacing file names with card-- will make it easy to filter all similar images.
- For best results, use this PSD template in conjunction with adobe photoshops save for web feature.
